Presentation of the BME-ENA project on the 5th Anniversary International Medical Forum "Innovations in Medicine - Health of the Nation", October 14-16, 2014, Kyiv, Ukraine

From the 14th to the 16th of October 2014 the 5th Anniversary International Medical Forum "Innovations in Medicine - Health of the Nation" was held at the exhibition center "Kyiv Expo Plaza" in Kyiv, Ukraine. The Medical Forum is a large-scale complex innovation-oriented event dedicated to the healthcare in Ukraine, which integrates in a scientific and practical program, schools and specialized exhibitions, and creates an international platform for exchange of experience and training of healthcare professionals. 

In the Medical Forum framework on October 16, the National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" organized the All-Ukrainian Conference "Actual problems and perspectives of Biomedical Engineering", which was attended by more than 300 participants from different institutions (NTUU "KPI", National Aviation University, Zhytomyr State Technological University, Institute of Material Science of National Academy of Sciences (NAS) and Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics of National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS), Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery of NAMS, Institute of Genetics and Molecular Biology, National Academy of Sciences, Institute of Electric Welding etc.). During the Conference 16 presentations were given.  

The main theme of the Conference was the formation and development of Biomedical Engineering (BME) in Ukraine, including education and research prospects of postgraduate students and MSc holders in the BME field. Particular attention was paid to the participation of NTUU "KPI" in the Tempus IV program “BME-ENA: Biomedical Engineering Education Tempus Initiative in Eastern Neighbouring Area”, as well as to a special contribution to the development of international partnerships of Education at MSc level on Biomedical Engineering in Ukraine.
